Viteyes Classic AREDS 2: what is actually in it
Serving size: 2 capsules. The closest to the trial short of PreserVision.
AREDS2 match: 4 of 6 nutrients
Four of six. Vitamin C and vitamin E land exactly on the trial doses; lutein and zeaxanthin do too. The two gaps are zinc at 25 mg instead of 80 and copper at 1.2 mg instead of 2 — and the manufacturer argues openly that the lower zinc is the better choice.

What this means
Viteyes makes our point for us: their product page explains that AREDS2 compared 25 mg against 80 mg zinc and found no significant difference. That is accurate, and it is also the reason the two missing zinc points should not be counted as a failure. The copper gap is the one worth asking about.
